On Friday march 30, Yellow Events & Services has organized a Beach BBQ for "Sunsation",
an international group of doctors staying in the Marriott and Hilton. These
guests, whom traveled to Curacao form the whole Caribbean as wel as Holland and
the US, were picked up by our
beach express busses
and after a tour through downtown taken to a "secret beach" on the north shore.

Monday, July 31, 2006 was an important day in the aviation history of the island
of Curaçao when the newest and best airport terminal in the Caribbean. The new
terminal is a brand new state of the art facility that complies with the
International Air Transport Association’s (IATA) design recommendations, chosen
by the government. The new facility offers 25% greater passenger processing
areas, a 50% expanded check in hall and 100% more adjacent check-in support
office spaces. |

Annual Holiday greeting card contest
As part of the Hilton Caribbean K.I.D.S. program, the Hilton Curaçao organized
for the 3rd year a Hilton Greetings card competition. The competition took place
today, September 1st, at the Kidz Paradise Club located on the hotel premises.
Sixty kids of the Mgr. Nieuwindt College and the Coromoto College participated.
All Hilton Hotels in the Caribbean will organize this event and 14 winners (one
per hotel) will be chosen. The children were entertained by Tio Ali and received

Dolphin Papito Celebrates first birthday
The Curacao Dolphin Academy celebrates the first birthday of baby Papito
today. The son of Geegee has reached a milestone in the life of a
dolphin. Since the chances of survival are big after the first year the
Dolphin Academy foresees a bright
future. Papito still drinks milk from his mother but also eats fish.
Therefore the trainers have been able to train him healthcare and
medical behaviors so they can monitor his health as well as that of the
adult dolphins. This off course makes Papito a full worthy member of the
dolphin family of the Dolphin Academy, something which he gladly shows
off during the different
training-demonstrations. |

 Shipwreck
Found in Curacao in 350 Feet of water
On May 26, 2005, Ocean Encounters' Technical Exploration Team confirmed
the location, position, and depth of the Stella Maris. This freighter was
confiscated by the Dutch and Curaçao authorities for drug trafficking. The
ship was sunk in the mid-'80s, after being purchased by the
Curacao Sea Aquarium, as an artificial
reef in front of Lions Dive Hotel. The sinking went bad and she was never
seen again. This year during the 3rd Annual Deep Week, the Technical
Exploration Team planned four dives to find the ship. Team members Christian
and Leo Ambrosi conducted the first two dives to practice protocols with
Okke Eskes, safety diver. Due to the size of the ship, in excess of 300
feet, and the contour of the reef, the predicted depth of the ship was
beyond 600 feet. |

express bus. At the end of May, this bus will be similar as the famous first bus and will be used for

 Windsurfing
Kids Day a success
The first Windsurfing Curacao kids day, organized by
Windsurfing Curacao,
was a great day, which started at Jan Sofat where the boat 'Je Moeder' took
the windsurfers to "tank 14". There, all 23 participating kids could join
the tank 14 locals on the water. With the help of the 'boyscouts' the
windsurfers where able to get about ten Child Rigs on the water at any time.
When the wind picked up the freestylers where showing off their flakes,
grubbies and spocks. Standout Nick showed everybody how to plane without any
wind and left us wishing we all weighted less then 50kg. At the end of the
day Baya beach provided fries, snacks and beverages to make it all complete.
With all these enthusiastic windsurfers on the, Windsurfing Curacao clearly
has shown that windsurfing on Curacao has a bright future. |
