The island of Curacao has a couple of good places for windsurfing. Beginners have the possibility to windsurf the Spanish Waters or they can go to St. Joris Bay, which is a bay on the north shore of Curacao. Local windsurfing kids are mostly windsurfing on the Spanish water near the yacht club. In the weekend you can find people windsurfing at St. Joris Bay. The more experienced windsurfers have the possibility to go windsurfing on the open ocean. There are a couple of launches at the southern beaches. Jan Thiel Beach in one of them and the other is Directors bay. When windsurfing on the open ocean, always be careful, and never go alone. The current can be really strong and can make it very difficult to come back.
